The Russian forward club of the National hockey League (NHL) “new York Rangers” Artemiy Panarin in Twitter criticized the League.
Panarin expressed concerns about the long-term well-being of the NHL. In his view, infringes on the rights of League players in the distribution of income. “For two decades, players were protecting the incomes of the owners via escrow (contributions to the insurance Fund of the NHL — approx. “Of the tape.ru”). We did that even during a pandemic, while the owners continued to grow exponentially,” said the striker.
Hockey player thought that the NHL needed to fix the situation with escrow. “We, as players, are unable to return to training without a prepared agreement. We are all together,” he concluded.
Panarin is the highest paid Russian player in the NHL. In July last year, he signed with the Rangers a seven-year contract, which is expected to 81.5 million dollars.
Regular season NHL has been suspended due to pandemic coronavirus in early March. The tournament should resume at the stage of the playoffs. Date of the beginning of matches not known yet.
