Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova ordered as soon as possible to develop a mechanism for the expenditure of the money received by the state by increasing personal income tax rate, for the treatment of children with severe and rare diseases, reports TASS.
She noted that it is necessary to create a “clear and transparent mechanism of spending of these funds.” The work should involve experts and members of the public.
On 23 June, President Vladimir Putin proposed to impose a tax for the rich. In particular, the President proposed to increase from 13 to 15 percent the tax rate on the income of individuals who annually earn more than five million rubles. Putin also called for a transparent mechanism for the allocation of funds received.
The new tax rates will be effective January 1, 2021.
