As shown by the data on life expectancy in Russia, women live on average 10 years longer than men. This was stated by Minister of health Michael Murashko, RIA Novosti reported on Friday, June 26.
“The difference between life expectancy of men and women, as in previous years, amounted to 10 years”, — said the Minister. He stressed that life expectancy of Russians in General, according to Rosstat estimates, increased to 73.3 years. According to ant, this was achieved thanks to the reduction of infant mortality.
Earlier it was reported that in 2019, the life expectancy of Russians has made 73,4 years, reaching a historic high. The health Ministry then linked growth with a significant decrease of mortality of the working-age population (men aged 16 to 59 and women aged 16 to 54 years). According to the Agency, in 2019, the mortality rate among working-age women fell by 2.1 per cent, among men by 3.5%.
