The mayor of Kherson Vladimir mikolaenko congratulated city residents on the anniversary of the oath of the organization of Ukrainian nationalists (OUN banned in Russia) to the führer of greater Germany Reich Adolf Hitler. About it reports TASS.

On billboards posted in the city, depicts a newspaper clipping of the OUN “Independent Ukraine” of July 10, 1941, which published the act of proclamation of Ukrainian state.

In the third article of the act States: “the re-established Ukrainian state will work closely with national socialist great Germany, which under leadership of Adolf Hitler creates a new order in Europe and the world and helping the Ukrainian people to free themselves from the Moscow occupation”.

In March, Ukraine entered into force a law that equalizes the veterans of the great Patriotic war, who fought on the side of the red army, and nationalists, whose leaders was Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych.

OUN advocated the establishment of an independent state populated by ethnic Ukrainians. Its military wing, the Ukrainian insurgent army (UPA) in the years of the great Patriotic war first, actively collaborated with the Nazis, and then led the fighting against German troops and against Soviet troops.

Underground OUN-UPA operated in Ukraine until the mid 1950-ies. Bandera was killed by an agent of the MGB of the USSR in 1959 in Munich.
