The protest demanding to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes is held outside the offices of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev. About it reports “UKRINFORM”.
“We emphasize that inaction and ignoring the needs and rights of patients, in particular in the treatment of drugs based on cannabis, contrary to both the Constitution and fundamental human rights”, — said the organizers of the event.
Participation in the action are about 100 people. They call the head of state, the government and the Verkhovna Rada to take measures to ensure access of patients to treatment preparations containing cannabinoids.
The first for the use of marijuana for medical purposes in Ukraine was made by the former acting Minister of health Suprun. She noted that cannabis helps relieve the suffering of patients and to normalize well-being in a number of serious diseases and conditions, and its use in medicine with certain reservations — “normal international practice”.
The Ministry of health of Ukraine admits that Parliament may consider a bill to legalize medical cannabis.
