The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky visited the Kherson synagogue “Chabad”, which tried to burn is unknown, and told about the low level of anti-Semitism. About it the press service of the office of the President announced on his page in Facebook.
During a visit Zelensky met with the chief Rabbi of Kherson and Kherson region Joseph Isaac wolf and visited the renovated part of the building, which in April was damaged by fire.
“It’s not that it’s a fast and correct result. I think the most important thing — and it happened — that all men see, that in Ukraine there are citizens of Ukraine. And, in spite of nationality, religion, they are all protected by state of Ukraine, our institutions, our law enforcement officers. The most important thing — to make themselves felt here as people,” said the President.
Synagogue Chabad in Kherson was built in 1895. Up to 1941 she served as a prayer house. After major repairs and restoration was opened in September 2010. In April it tried to ignite, to detain two of the suspects have been in three weeks.
