In Russia there has been massive reform of the visa — the rules of entry can change in the near future after the introduction of electronic visa. The corresponding bill in the first reading adopted by the state Duma, writes “Kommersant”.
So, now the opportunity to apply for a visa electronically without leaving home, to enter in three pilot regions in the Russian territory (the far Eastern Federal district, Kaliningrad oblast, St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast) are citizens of 53 countries.
It is expected that from January 2021 this practice will extend to all Russia. The measures will affect the member countries of the European Union, China, Japan, India, Turkey and other countries. It is believed that thus inbound tourism in the country will get an impetus for development.
In an interview with the publication, Deputy head of the Russian foreign Ministry state Secretary Eugene Ivanov explained that foreigners will be able to obtain an e-visa not later than four days from the day of filing the application and use it within the next 60 days, while the duration of the trip should not exceed 16 days. The cost of the document will be about $ 50.
At the same time, the Ministry does not exclude that in the future visa will be reusable. “Such decisions should be made on the basis of analysis of past experience and taking into account all factors, including migration risk,” concluded the newspaper.
However, some experts of the tourism industry fear that the simplification of the visa regime will increase illegal migration to Russia. According to law enforcement, the country still has not left more than two thousand foreigners who entered in 2018 without visas in the passports of fans of the world Cup.
On June 17 the head of the Federal tourism Agency of sarin doguzova proposed to make e-visa to Russia free of charge. According to her, due to the current situation in Russia, there is a need to take nonstandard decisions and to put forward “bold ideas”.
