In a nationwide vote on the issue of amending the Constitution adopted by more than 40 million Russians. On Monday, June 29, in his Telegram channel according to the Central election Commission (CEC).
“About the voting process: on the morning of June 29 voted (including remote voting) 40 415 883 citizens (turnout 37.2 per cent)”, — stated in the message.
Earlier on June 29 it was reported that, according to exit polls, nearly a quarter of Russians voted against changing the Constitution (23.6%). Another 0.4 percent of respondents said that spoiled the ballot. All the others supported the amendments (76 percent).
Nationwide voting runs from 25 June to 1 July. The last of these days will be in the country outside. Citizens will have to answer “Yes” or “no” to the question whether they approve the amendments to the Constitution. Residents of Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod region can vote online.
Among the voted on amendment — the right of the incumbent President of Russia to be re-elected for a new term, the priority of Russian laws over international. All proposed changes approved by the regional parliaments and the State Duma, the Federation Council and the constitutional court.
