Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with RT was not able to answer the question about the timing of the opening of borders, which closed because of the pandemic coronavirus.
The foreign Minister noted that the foreign Ministry in real time provides the Russian government with information about the situation with coronavirus abroad. While Lavrov could not name a date for the opening of the borders. In addition, he said that his Ministry has already started to return to life as usual — Lavrov started to make in-person visits, thus leaving of video conferencing.
Russia closed the borders and canceled most of the passenger traffic in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection on March 30. The right to cross the border are military, civilian personnel and foreign bases, workers in the nuclear industry involved in the construction of overseas ships ‘ crews, as well as diplomats, bound for Kaliningrad transit passengers and Russians going abroad for the funeral of a relatives.
