USA and the national oil Corporation of Libya (National Oil Corporation, NOC) are outraged because of the presence of Russian mercenaries in the largest Libyan oil field in al-Sharara. This was stated by the representative of the state Department of Morgan Ortagus in his Twitter.
“We share the deep concern (…) about the intervention of PMCs “Wagner” — powers, subordinate to the Russian defense Ministry and foreign mercenaries in the Libyan work of enterprises and personnel in the oil field,” she said. According to Ortagus, these actions directly threaten the sovereignty and well-being of Libya.
