In Ukraine sharply increased the proportion of citizens who oppose cooperation with the International monetary Fund (IMF). This is evidenced by the results of the survey of the Kiev international Institute of sociology (KIIS), reported RIA Novosti.
In April negatively to loans from the IMF was only 46 percent, but within two months the proportion had increased to 61 percent. The percentage of support contacts with the organization, in contrast, declined from 32 to 24. The rest of the answer difficult.
Respondents didn’t want to take him to borrow against the background of the approval of the next 18-month programme of support and the allocation of the first tranche in the amount of $ 2.1 billion. Also the cooperation with the IMF helped to get the second tranche under macro-financial assistance of the European Union, which is 500 million euros.
As pointed out by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko, the end of the year, the country could obtain loans for $ 3.5 billion from the IMF, up to a billion from the world Bank and more than a billion euros from the European Union.
The head of the IMF Kristalina Georgieva pointed out that the program of support of Ukraine approved with significant uncertainty, and this means that to obtain it would require fiscal tightening.
The decline in support among the population is associated with conditions which are agreed to go out Ukraine for the sake of money from international organizations. Among them — the simplified procedure of debt collection from citizens for utilities, higher fines and stricter penalties for late payments, the closure of the schools and firing more teachers, and probably higher prices for gas.
