LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky proposed to introduce in Russia the tax windfall and take a portion of the proceeds from the rich citizens, he wrote about this in his Twitter account.
“Such a tax should have been introduced with [first Russian President Boris] Yeltsin, when the bankers returned from the Kremlin and laughed at the people”, — said Zhirinovsky.
In his opinion, billionaires have to give the country more than half of their income. LDPR leader added that such a system has long worked in the USA and Europe.
In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to increase the tax to incomes of physical persons (personal income tax) due to the increase in rates for wealthy taxpayers, from the current 13 percent to 15. The increased rate will apply only to the amount of income exceeding five million rubles a year. The new rules will take effect from 1 January 2021, the money will be used to help seriously ill children.
In February, the head of analytical management FTS of Russia Valery Zasko talked about the absurdity of raising taxes for the rich, because this measure will bring no more than tens of billions of rubles of additional income.
