Think about the timing of completion of the construction of “Nord stream-2” is premature, some estimates can be given only after the introduction of new sanctions by the USA and reaction to them in Europe. This was stated by Ryan green, the head of Austrian oil and gas company OMV, one of the investors of the project, reports TASS.

He declined to comment on the possibility of postponing the delivery of the project for an indefinite period, noting that OMV can talk about the delays only after political issues.

“Nord stream-2” was completed by 93 percent. It was supposed to deliver by the beginning of 2020, but because of US sanctions by the Swiss company Allseas, which belonged to the seals, stopped all work.

Currently, Russia expects to complete the laying of pipes to Germany on their own. Preliminary deadline — the end of this year or early next year, however, the ship, which will be not called. It could be laying vessel “Akademik Chersky”, which in may arrived in Germany from the Far East.

In turn, the United States promise to impose new sanctions that will put an end to the project. Senators Ted Cruz, the Genie Sahin, John Barrasso, Ron Johnson and Tom cotton are going to include them in the draft defense budget of the United States. The idea is to bring under the restrictive measures of any activity, which facilitate the construction, not only underwater pipe laying.

In Germany, as indicated by the sources, prepare a response in case these actions on the part of the United States. It is not excluded that we will focus on the coordinated action from the EU because U.S. pressure has hurt many European companies and banks.
