The candidate for the post of President of Belarus Valery Tsepkalo in an interview with “the” called the main claim to the current head of state Alexander Lukashenko.

“People 10 years spent as President and must leave. If it does not, in fact, is reborn the man himself. He begins to turn into a bronze figure, considering that became a legend and the popular favorite,” said Tsepkalo, adding that Belarus should strive to become a state of law.

In his view, stability and predictability in the country assumes a normal democratic transfer of power from one President to another. “When the system is tuned for one person, who says he will not give up power under any circumstances, this is just creating a time bomb,” said Tsepkalo, and cited the example of countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which “quietly the transit”.

The politician believes that in the Constitution of Belarus it is necessary to fix a strict limitation of the term of office of the President. “The President must feel that he has a limited resource of time, and then it needs to go all out to bring the maximum benefit to his country, his people” — he concluded.

On June 24 the former head of the Belarusian high-tech Park Valery Tsepkalo filed documents for registration of his candidacy for the presidency. He gave a CEC of 160 thousand signature sheets for the pass minimum in 100 thousand. Tsepkalo stressed that full confidence in the legality of all collected documents and does not see any reason why he can refuse registration. It became known yesterday that the interior Ministry has initiated preliminary examination in respect of the policy after the application of a Turkish citizen about the “illegal activities” of the party in the presidential race.
