The Euro soared above $ 80 during trading on the Moscow exchange for the first time since may 14. This is evidenced by the trading platform.
By 17:30 Moscow time the Euro exchange rate amounted to 80,03 ruble. The dollar on Tuesday, June 30, rose above 71 of the ruble and at the time of writing has reached 71.34 ruble.
According to Reuters, the weakening of the ruble may be due to the repatriation of profits by non-residents at the end of the quarter, as well as the reverse conversion of the received by foreign holders of Russian shares dividends. Usually exporters reduce the offer of currency proceeds on the market after taxes, the Agency said, which also works against the Russian currency.
