The President of Abkhazia voted for amendments to the Constitution of Russia

The President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania, took part in the voting on the amendments to the Constitution of Russia at the Russian Embassy in Sukhum. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Together with the head of state voted Vice-President of the Republic of Badr Gunba.

“This event is meaningful. I am absolutely sure that these changes are aimed at strengthening of statehood, which will have a positive impact on the life of Abkhazia”, — said Bzhania, who is a Russian citizen.

The main day of voting on the adoption of amendments to the Constitution of Russia in Abkhazia will be held on 1 July at the premises of the consular Department of the Embassy in Sukhum.

A nationwide vote began on 25 June and will continue until July 1, inclusive, that will be for the Russians off. According to the latest data, the turnout of 49.6 million people. The turnout according to the morning of 30 June amounted to 45.7 percent.

Among the proposed amendments is the right of the incumbent President be re-elected for a new term, the priority of Russian laws over international.
