Prices began to rise in mid-month against the backdrop of increasing demand and the inability of Russian suppliers to deal with it. The Russian authorities assure that the retail prices of this situation will not change, and the deficit will not arise.

As noted by the head of Department of regulation of fuel and energy complex and chemical industry of the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) Armen Khanyan, currently, the Department initiated a discussion of the abolition of the ban on the import of fuel.

According to him, the sharp increase in demand that arose after the abolition of restrictions on the coronavirus, led to the fact that fuel is no longer enough, as domestic production is unable to meet the needs. The moratorium imposed in late may, valid till October 1, however, said the official if the situation is not normal, it can be undone.
