For most Russians the most important amendments to the Constitution became social and “Patriotic”. Their “news” was named the Director of the Russian center for public opinion studies (VTSIOM) Valery Fedorov.
According to him, social points relate to the size of the minimum wage, indexation of pensions, free medical care, and “Patriotic” — a ban to officials to own property abroad, the ban to negotiate the transfer of territory, the priority of the Constitution over international treaties and agreements.
Sociologists interviewed citizens have admitted that they know about the political amendment, but I think such topics are outside their priorities in life.
The head of VTSIOM added that vote mostly older people. They also believe the most important proposed changes in the Basic law. Fyodorov said that young people have “other concerns and interests.”
Preliminary data from exit polls over the first four days of voting showed that the amendment act 76 percent of voters and 23.6 percent against.
A nationwide vote began on 25 June and will continue until July 1, inclusive, which will be for the Russians off. Among the proposed amendments is the right of the incumbent President be re-elected for a new term, the priority of Russian laws over international. The proposals approved by the Constitutional court, Duma, Federation Council and regional parliaments.
