EU sanctions against political figures in Venezuela demonstrate the commitment of unions to the policy of interventionism. This view was made by the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic Jorge arreaza in his Twitter.
He also called the EU sanctions a nostalgia for colonialism, “who leads him into the abyss of the lack of legality, persecution and aggression” against Venezuela. Arreaza stressed that the Republic reserves the right to a decisive answer.
Earlier, the President of the country Nicolas Maduro made the decision to expel the representative of the European Union from Venezuela. He demanded that Europe respect and called her colonial policy.
This was a response to the fact that the EU has made 11 officials and parliamentarians of Venezuela in the sanctions list. This action is explained by the penalty for the resistance of the opposition led by Juan Guido and the “breakdown of democracy” in the country. They are banned entry to the territory of the enterprises, and their accounts in European banks will be frozen.
At the end of April 2019 Guido encouraged soldiers and people to overthrow Maduro. He said that the army took his side, and called the events “the final phase of “operation Freedom””. The next day, Maduro announced his victory over the forces of the opposition. Russia supported the incumbent President, the United States recognized the legitimacy of Guido.
