Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro congratulated Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin with the adoption of the amendments to the Constitution. It is reported TASS with reference to the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Republic.
“Maduro, on behalf of the government and people of Venezuela, congratulates the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the brave Russian people with a demonstration of the example of civic and political consciousness and a deep commitment to democracy,” the document says. The Republic’s authorities have said they are interested in strengthening relations with Moscow.
Congratulations, made in China: the foreign Ministry stressed that respect the choice of the Russians. Prime Minister Narendra modi also congratulated Putin.
The vote on the amendments was held from 25 June to 1 July inclusive. Residents of most of the Russian regions supported the amendments to the Basic law — the amendment was voted 77,92% of the voters.
