Member of the Russian Paralympic team Ivan Frolov told about helping the player “Sochi” Alexander Kokorin. It is reported by “Sport-Express”.
According to the athlete, he was engaged in mini-football, injured the cervical spine and became disabled. After that Frolov has decided to engage in bocce and was included in the Paralympic national team of Russia on this sport. The athlete appeared in a dream to go to the Paralympics, but he needed the ranking points earned at international tournaments.
Frolov began to refer to famous people asking for financial assistance for overseas travel to competitions, but he was denied, or ignored. The only one who responded was injured. The player has compatriot 250 thousand rubles, which was enough for two trips to Poland and Spain.
Frolov noted that the first time failed to qualify for the games, but then won the right to play at the Paralympics in Tokyo, which moved from 2020 to 2021 due to pandemic coronavirus. He says that it is thanks to Kokorin, he was able to realize his dream.
Kokorin, owned by “Zenit” stands for “Sochi” on loan. This season he has played seven matches in Tinkoff, the Russian Premier League (RPL).
