Detained by employees of the Federal security service (FSB) of Russia adviser to the head of state Corporation “Roscosmos” and a former journalist of the newspaper “Kommersant” Ivan Safronov did not plead guilty to treason. On Tuesday, July 7, citing a source in law enforcement bodies, reports TASS.
According to the source, a formal charge Safronov must be filed within ten days from the moment of detention. July 7, the Lefortovo district court of Moscow will elect the measure of restraint — the investigation requested the arrest of the detainee.
Previously, the special correspondent of “Medusa” Ivan Golunov, which in 2019 accused of selling drugs, reacted to the arrest Safronov. He stressed that Russian journalism because of “business person” will change.
On the morning of 7 July Safronov was arrested on suspicion of treason. The FSB said that the journalist is suspected of passing secret information to the representative of one of the special services of NATO. The case file was classified. Safronov worked in “Kommersant” and “Vedomosti” newspaper, in may, moved to the Corporation “Roscosmos”. In “Kommersant” was a special correspondent on the subject of the military-industrial complex.
Journalists, left on pickets in support of the FSB building in Moscow, was detained. Among them are former colleagues Safronov according to “Kommersant” Elena Chernenko and Alexander Chernykh, a journalist of the “Project” Olga Churakova and former journalist Anna Zibrova.
