Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on health protection Leonid Ogul suggested vaccination COVID-19 in the national immunization schedule, reports “Interfax”.
According to him, after the development and beginning use of the drug should be free and accessible to all categories of Russians. “And it [the vaccination] must be voluntary. We are talking about prevention, not treatment,” said Ogul.
The MP added that the issue of seasonality of vaccination against COVID-19 “depends on how in the future will behave coronavirus”. He noted that the flu shot is updated every year because the virus mutates. “What will be the situation with coronavirus — time will tell,” concluded Ogul.
Previously, the government stated that the mass vaccination against coronavirus in Russia may be launched only at the beginning of next year. So said the drug will be available to all population groups without restrictions in January-February 2021, although to register him in early August.
As of July 24, in Russia revealed more than 800 thousand cases of infection with coronavirus. The total number of recovered closer to 589 thousand. The active carriers of the virus remain 199 thousand people. 13 046 patients died
