Company “Norilsk Nickel” has developed and submitted to the Rostechnadzor action plan, aimed at improving industrial safety at the facilities after a spill of fuel at TPP-3. This was reported on the website of the company on Friday, July 24.
The plan involves the analysis of a condition of industrial safety, the creation and implementation of remote monitoring system at the enterprises and organization of the system of reference to monitor the state of permafrost. “We need to start doing immediately, to focus on activities aimed at preventing the recurrence of similar accidents,” — said the head of Rostekhnadzor Alexey Aleshin.
“Rostekhnadzor has taken a tough stance on the expansion of the perimeter monitoring of industrial objects, and “Nornikel” it fully shares. The new system of assessment infrastructure will improve the safety of the objects of the company. And also raise a new level of interaction with Supervisory authorities”, — said the President of “Norilsk Nickel” Vladimir Potanin, reports TASS.
Accident with oil spill occurred on the territory of CHPP-3, Norilsk-Taimyr energy company (NTEC, a subsidiary of “Norilsk Nickel”) on may 29 due to the depressurization of the fuel tank. As a result, 17 thousand tons of oil products got into the river and Daldykan Barn, lake and river Pacino. There were no injuries. First Vice-President of the company “Norilsk Nickel” Sergey Dyachenko said that the spill of diesel fuel at TPP-3 could happen because of the melting of soil permafrost.
