Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy in his book “Time storms” gave a description of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. Passages from it quoted by TASS.

The Frenchman said that Putin is easy to talk to because he listens carefully, inclined to smile and polite. Sarkozy stressed that the head of the Russia’s “extremely loyal” friends and beliefs, but may change its position with convincing arguments. “To win the trust of Putin, it is very important and very difficult, but once this is achieved, it becomes a different interlocutor,” writes the former President.

In addition, it is noted that the Russian leader always keeps his word and does not like double standards. It is argued that Putin believes only business, but also willing to respect the principled position of the other party and its red lines, if it does the same thing against him. Next, Sarkozy recalled how Putin has asked to buy land in Paris for the construction of the “best architects” of the Russian spiritual and cultural center.

Earlier, Nicolas Sarkozy had called himself the friend of Putin. In addition, the French argued that the prestige of Russia have risen unexpectedly for the Russians themselves. “You have no idea at what level your prestige and your image has changed in the international arena. Russia once again became a mighty power, Russia knows its place in the international arena and knows its destiny,” he said.

Sarkozy was President of France from 2007 to 2012.
