A resident of Kherson region illegally held immigrants from Central and Western regions of Ukraine, forcing them to work for free for 15 hours a day. Reports about it “Strenia”.
That 30-year-old Ukrainian made themselves slaves told the two men, who were able to escape. Militiamen found out that the “labor camp” were 13 people ranging in age from 19 to 53 years, among them two women. They all lived in a shed in unsanitary conditions.
The landlord called himself a foreman and handed over his “captives” to rent to local farmers. People worked in the fields under the scorching sun from 05:00 a.m. until dusk.
According to them, the owner had psychological pressure. A worthy reward for the work he promised to pay at the end of the summer season. The money from the farmers, the man was taken away. “Prisoners” worked only for a bed and food.
A criminal case under articles 146 (“Illegal imprisonment or kidnapping”) and 149 (“human trafficking”) of the Criminal code of Ukraine. Police continue investigations.
