The official representative of the foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said on the call, former Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin to create problems in Russia because of the Crimea. Her words quoted by RBC.
“They [Kiev] have turned out to turn Ukraine into a global issue”, — said Zakharov.
Previously Klimkin said that it is necessary to turn the Crimea in the internal and external challenges for Russia. “Become a better Russia and stay real friends who share common values and a common future,” the Minister wrote.
Crimea became part of Russia in 2014, after a referendum in which the majority of respondents supported this decision. In the same year, the United States, European Union and some other countries have introduced sanctions against Russia due to the annexation of the Peninsula. Kiev considers the territory annexed and accuses Moscow of violating the rights of the Crimean Tatars. Russian authorities deny these accusations.
