In the area Uliastai the province of Zavkhan in the West of Mongolia, the authorities imposed an indefinite quarantine after one of the locals suspected bubonic plague. On Sunday, July 26, according to RIA Novosti.

Symptoms of the infection revealed that the 39-year-old man: he complained of fever, muscle pain and headache. It is known that a week ago he and his family ate the meat of the marmot, these animals are often carriers of bubonic plague.

Currently, the alleged infected person is isolated at a local hospital. At least another nine people, with whom he had contact, were obliged to comply with self-isolation at home.

14 July in Mongolia, the death was recorded as a result of infection of the bubonic plague. It is known that the deceased patient — a 15-year-old from South-Western part of the country. He died on the way to the hospital. It is noted that a few days before that, the teenager together with friends, eating a dish of meat Mongolian marmot — known carrier of the seasonal plague. Also bubonic plague confirmed the herders in Bayan Nur Inner Mongolia (China). On July 17 it became known that a case of bubonic plague recorded from a resident of the U.S. state of Colorado.
