Russians urged to eat less salt, reducing the amount of bread, sausage and home canned food in the diet. Relevant recommendations were given by the head of the scientific direction “Optimal nutrition FITS nutrition and biotechnology” Alexander Baturin in an interview with “Russian newspaper”.
As told by Buchanan that, on average, Russians consume 12 grams of salt per person per day, whereas recommended by the world health organization and the Ministry of health, the norm is only five grams.
One of the main sources of salt, according to him, is a bread — eating 300 grams of pastry, one gets the same five grams, which are daily maximum and further consumption becomes harmful to the body.
Also, the expert added, a large amount of salt contained in the sausage and homework — sauerkraut and pickles. Because they too should be eaten in limited quantities.
Excessive consumption of salt, sugar, saturated fats and TRANS fats can lead to obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular development, cancer and osteoporosis, said the specialist.
Previously, experts of Roskoshestvo gave the Russians tips on choosing wholesome bread. Buyers are encouraged to pay attention to bakery products of unconventional flours, as well as those in which there is a variety of seeds — for example, in the linseed contains alpha-linoleic acid omega-3 and lots of fiber.
