Russia has lost the chance “to normalize the occupation of the Crimea”, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba on his Twitter page.
Kuleba said that two years ago, the US adopted the “Crimean Declaration” not to recognize the Peninsula as part of Russia. The diplomat called it a historic document and thanked America, which a few days ago confirmed its policy and has sent Moscow a “clear signal” — “illegal occupation based on military force” is temporary and will one day end.
“Moscow has already lost the chances of success of attempts to normalize its illegal occupation of Crimea,” — said Kuleba and added that it is necessary to increase pressure on the Kremlin over the “growing human rights violations and the militarization” of the Peninsula.
Jul 24, Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine dzhaparova said that Kyiv has developed a strategy of “de-occupation” of the Crimea, but until a document is released to the public. She added that Ukraine plans to create an international communication platform on the Crimean issue. Today, the reaction of the world community to the problems of the Peninsula is sporadic and irregular, than is Russia, said Dzhaparov.
Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 after the referendum in which the majority of respondents supported this decision.
