President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko considered secondary elections in comparison with the harvest. He stated this during his working trip to Minsk region, BelTA informs.
“Elections are elections, and eat all they want. Therefore, the main should be focused here. Elections — this is the second time”, — emphasized Lukashenko.
He noted that whoever was President, bread for the Belarusians will always need: “And God forbid, to repeat the 90-ies. I already told you. When in Minsk was three days flour to bake bread. So why would we worth, this bread needs to recover and to rebuild reserves.”
On 26 July, the candidate in presidents of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovski spoke at the rally in Gomel and stated that the main points of her campaign was the release of all political prisoners and holding a new, fair elections. According to her, Belarusians should vote for Tikhanovski not as a politician, but as a guarantee of things to come.
On 24 July, Lukashenka said that the authorities would not want to resort to the use of military units during possible protests in the country, “but anything can be.” He promised that the soldiers of the parts in Maryina Gorka and the capital Uruchcha will not allow escalation in the country.
In Belarus on 9 August presidential election. Lukashenko believes that the country wants to organize a revolution. He complained of foreign interference in the election campaign by “foreign puppeteers”. The President warned that the country may lose part of its territory and return to the borders of 1921.
