Russia protested because of the LGBT flags on the embassies of the US and Britain

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia sent protest notes to the embassies of the US, the UK and Canada because they posted in June, the flags of the LGBT community. About this informed the head of the state Duma Commission on investigation of cases of interference in the Affairs outside of Russia Vasily Piskarev, reports RIA Novosti.

Moscow believes that the diplomatic mission has thus violated the provisions of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations of 1961 and the national legislation of Russia.

June 25 at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow at Novinsky Boulevard hoisted the LGBT flag in support of sexual minorities. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the way us Embassy staff “showed who works there”. Account of the Russian foreign Ministry in Facebook reacted to the song “El Bimbo” — the anthem of the bar “Blue oyster” from the movie “Police Academy”. Later a similar action was held by the diplomats of Britain and Canada.

In many countries in the month of June, “the month of pride” (Pride Month), are designed to draw attention to the civil rights of the LGBT community.
