The main rival of Lukashenko spoke against Union with Russia

The candidate in presidents of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovski opposed integration with Russia. This was the chief rival of President Alexander Lukashenko in the forthcoming August 9 elections, said in an interview with “Medusa”.

“I think that Belarus does not need the Federal government. Belarus should be independent state. We need normal international relations, no additional agreements are not necessary. Then there is the extra temptation for someone somewhere to join,” — said the politician.

In her opinion, Belarus and Russia, “and so friendly”, so Minsk and Moscow should develop economic relations on equal conditions in the interests of both countries.

Tikhanovski noted that independence is the United opposition of the absolute value: “We do not sell we do not sell, we are not even discussing this question. We are peaceful people and will be friends with everyone, but only in the interests of their own country.”

She added that the Belarusians are very interested in the fact that “Russia has become a democratic civilized state”.

Earlier on July 27, had published the election programme Tikhanovski. It was made by a politician for Belarusization. Tikhanovski said about the importance of the development of education in the Belarusian language. As one of the objectives she mentioned the establishment of a national University with the Belarusian language of teaching as the core.
