The candidate in presidents of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovski published election program, in which she described the main goal of the opposition. The document is available on the official website of the main opponent of President Alexander Lukashenko in the upcoming elections.
According to Tikhanovski, she came into politics not for power but for justice: “My main goal is to spend real fair elections with the participation of all alternative candidates. A vote for me is a vote for the restoration of your right to choose the government, for new and fair elections.”
She asked Belarusians to act as one big team to change power in the country. Tikhanovski urged citizens not to participate in early voting and to come to the polls on 9 August that the authorities are unable to steal the vote. Moreover, the politician reminded the citizens about the possibility of becoming independent observers.
Tikhanovski promised that after assuming the office of President, it will take measures to maintain stability and create conditions for holding fair elections: appoint new members of the CEC will announce a transition period, will start the process of holding a referendum on the return to the initial wording of the 1994 Constitution.
The program affirms the need of implementation in the country the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual and of democratic society development principles.
“Independence is our absolute value, we do not sell, trade, were not discussed. We are peaceful people and will be friends with everyone, but only in the interests of their own country. We must create a partnership on equal terms, and not dependent on gas or credit “needle”,” — said in the document.
In Belarus on 9 August presidential election. Lukashenko believes that the country wants to organize a revolution. He complained of foreign interference in the election campaign by “foreign puppeteers”. The President warned that the country may lose part of its territory and return to the borders of 1921.
