All landfills in the Moscow region will cease to operate from January next year, said the Governor of the region Andrei Vorobyov. It quoted RIAMA.
Garbage will be delivered to systems for processing waste (KPO), all the garbage in the region will be recycled, said the head of the region.
Earlier in June, the Minister of housing and communal services of the region Anton Velikhovskaya stated that all solid waste, direct landfills in the Moscow region will be closed next year.
Moscow oblast was the first among Russian regions have adopted the new standard of collection and recycling of waste in 2019. In particular, the new environmental policy began the construction of a modern high-tech facilities, as well as the closing and reclamation of landfills. To date, 29 closed polygons from 39.
