Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinian in an interview with RBC responded to the post of chief editor RT Margarita Simonyan criticism of the authorities.
Simonyan on July 18 wrote that “in response to many years of good and protection” from Russia, the Armenian authorities did not recognize the annexation of Crimea to Russia, put “constant ally” of Moscow ex-President Robert Kocharyan and “flooded” Republic anti-Russian NGOs that teach young Russians how to overthrow the government. “You became a springboard for anti-Russian forces in the Caucasus”, — said Simonyan.
Pashinyan recalled that Armenia and not recognized Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence, but it does not prevent it to act as a guarantor of its security.
He also said that ally and partner of Russia in Armenia is the Armenian people, not specific political figures that “for a long time positioned itself as the sole ally” of Moscow.
As for NGOs, they were established and functioned as times during the reign of Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan in Russia, when “there was no doubt Pro-Russian aspirations of the government of Armenia,” Pashinyan added.
Earlier, Pashinyan commented on the clashes between Armenians and Azerbaijanis in Russia. “Anti-Armenian attacks living in Russia, Azeris are not simply an expression of anti-Armenian rhetoric of the Azerbaijani leadership, but also attempt to make it the scene of ethnic clashes,” he said.
