Russian retail chain “Pyaterochka” was going to open the stores without cashiers. One such point called “a roundabout” already works in the Moscow suburb of Dolgoprudny, but it is available only to employees of the company. This was stated by the CEO of the retailer Sergey Goncharov, RIA Novosti reported.

The entrance and exit of buyers, and the process of their stay in the room temperature and lighting controlled by special sensors in the so-called “Internet of things” (IoT).

In the near future the network will decide on the launch of the pilot outlets intended for a wide audience. According to Goncharov, who did not give a possible opening date, the format of “roundabout” as the shop at home are looking for that innovation, because now the network has customers from premium formats.

Earlier it became known that X5 Retail Group where, in addition to “roundabout” includes a network “Crossroads”, “Carousel”, intends to develop a network of discount stores to sell their own brands. The first outlets, the retailer is going to open in November this year, but the final decision about the format are going to take in December 2021-th.

One of the main competitors X5, the trading network “Magnit” has begun to open similar stores under the name “My price”. First point are extremely compressed range and the most cheap services. For example, most of the goods are laid out on the shelves right into the boxes.
