Next year in the United States can dramatically decrease the birth rate, which will be a new challenge for the economy and after the pandemic coronavirus. About it writes Bloomberg.
The total fertility rate fell from 2.1 to 1.7 children per woman. According to the survey of the Institute of Halmahera, 34 percent of American women would like to delay pregnancy or have fewer children because of the crisis caused by the pandemic.
Analysts at the Brookings institution expect that the situation will worsen. In 2021 in the country may receive on 500 thousand children less than in the current one. The number of children in the womb is likely to significantly exceed the number of Americans who died of coronavirus (about 150 thousand people).
All together this will lead to a decrease in the number of consumers, workers and taxpayers in the future. The experts doubt that in the coming years will be a surge in the birth rate, compensating the current loss.
Informed expert in statistics and modeling, Center for economic research Aghasi Tavadyan denied the possibility of the demographic crisis in Russia. The annual decline of population in the country is about one percent, at the same level holds and fertility.
