Russia and neighbouring Nordic countries are developing a joint project for the online broadcast of the Northern lights. About it RIA Novosti said the Ambassador for special assignments of the Russian foreign Ministry Nikolay Korchunov.
The initiative is called “monitoring System for the Northern lights for the needs of tourism business”. It is expected that its implementation will be installed surveillance cameras, transmitting the images of the Northern lights in real time, would be able to watch Russians and citizens of other States.
The diplomat noted that Russia plans to further develop cooperation with neighbouring States in the field of Arctic tourism.
The Northern lights can be seen from late September to late March. Best of all it is noticeable in the Northern regions of Finland, Norway, Iceland, Sweden. To observe the phenomenon better outside the city, away from bright light sources.
