Siberia has predicted the catastrophe of over 180 tons of chemicals in the bankrupt plant



In the closed Siberian city of Zheleznogorsk in the bankrupt factory contains about 180 tons of chlorsilane, which could trigger an environmental catastrophe, according to a Telegram channel state Duma Deputy Sergei Natarov.

The publication clarifies that chlorsilane considered a hazardous chemical III class of danger. It is a liquid that smokes in air and explodes when exposed to water. It is irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, may cause damage to upper respiratory tract. This ingredient is in stock semiconductor silicon plant, which is recognized as bankrupt and desolated in 2015. The object itself is not protected.

“The company exposes the risk of environmental disasters, tens of thousands of residents of the region”, — have declared Natarov, noting that the municipal authorities do nothing.

The MP appealed to the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk territory and the attorney General, the MOE and Rosprirodnadzor with the request to understand a situation, to influence the officials and the management of the enterprise.

At the end of may in Norilsk on-site CHP-3 of the Norilsk-Taimyr energy company (NTEC, a subsidiary of “Norilsk Nickel”) was an oil spill. Seriously affected neighbouring water bodies and soil, the incident is considered the largest environmental disaster in the history of the Russian Arctic.
