Self-propelled anti-tank gun “Sprut-SD”, which India amid the escalation of the conflict with China plans to buy from Russia, will allow to effectively deal with military equipment of the probable enemy, confident in Defence24.
The Polish newspaper notes that the weapon “thanks to its small weight, size and high fire power could establish itself in the Indian army as a replacement of the main tank on rough mountain terrain of the Himalayas, increasing the combat effectiveness and firepower of nearby units.”
Estimated Defence24 Russian “Sprut-SD” can be used against the Chinese light tank Type 15 adapted for operation in mountainous conditions.
In July Defence24 drew attention to the fact that the suspension of deliveries of anti-aircraft missile systems s-400 “Triumph” from Russia to China may be associated not with the constraints caused by a coronavirus infection and the Sino-Indian border conflict.
In January 2017, the commander of the airborne troops (VDV) Vladimir Shamanov said that the anti-tank gun “Sprut-SDM-1” will be supplied to the Navy in 2017.
