The Polish gas company PGNiG has paid a record in the history of the country the tax from the funds paid by “Gazprom export” according to the decision of the Stockholm arbitration. The broadcast television said the Chairman of the management Board of PGNiG Jerzy Kwiecinski, reports RIA Novosti.
According to him, neither the Polish firm has not previously transferred a large sum of tax revenues in the state budget. Its size amounted to 1.14 billion zlotys or $ 300 million.
PGNiG at the end of March announced its final victory in the case of gas prices. “Gazprom export” appealed the decision, but paid the money.
The Russian company moved to Poland 1,606 billion dollar fine, after which Warsaw has returned 90 million. Kwiecinski then pointed out that the company owes Russia for gas deliveries in individual months of 2014.
The trial started in 2016. The Polish side argued that “Gazprom” in 2014 regularly overestimates the cost of gas and demanded compensation, and changes in tariffs. As the Russian company continued shipments under the same conditions, the debt had reached $ 1.5 billion.
Even before the conclusion of the case in Warsaw declared that does not intend to renew the contract for the purchase of Russian gas after 2022, as it brings losses. Also Poland did not sign the new agreement on the transit of Russian gas to Germany through the pipeline “Yamal — Europe”, which “Gazprom” is forced to buy power at auction.
Earlier it was reported that in January payments of “Gazprom”, which included the payment of a fine by the decision of the Stockholm arbitration, Ukraine has brought a third of budget revenues.
