The Russian resort Essentuki will turn into a smart city within the implementation project of the same name. On Thursday, July 30, reported TASS in the office of information policy of the government of Stavropol territory.
It specified that the region has already established a special working group that will work to create a more personalized digital image of Yessentuki. “In addition to the basic digital technologies, smart cities, essentukami plan to introduce their own distinctive segments that will add to the city’s unique character”, — explained in management.
At the moment it is known that digitalization will affect tourism, security and utilities. So, in Essentuki will appear 66 smart stops and five pedestrian crossings. In addition, the city plans to install information boards with the feedback function, through which tourists can learn about the ongoing cultural activities and beautiful resort.
The project “Smart city” is realized in Russia, including in the framework of the national project “Digital economy”. Only the implementation of the national project it is planned to allocate more than 1.8 trillion rubles. In particular, it implies an increase of internal costs for the development of the digital economy at the expense of all sources, the creation of sustainable and secure information and telecommunications infrastructure for high speed transmission, processing and storage of large amounts of data, as well as the transfer of government agencies and organizations to use mainly software developed in Russia.
