The words of the CPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov that the refusal to register the candidate on elections of the Governor of Sevastopol representative of the party of Roman Kiyashko “is a complete mess and a disgrace,” reminiscent of the rhetoric of the leaders of the Ukrainian Maidan and show the marginalization of the Communists. This was told to “Tape.ru” Sevastopol political scientist Sergei Yukhin.
“What is happening in Sebastopol is fully consistent with the national trend — the Communists cease to be a systemic political force, they went into a steep dive, from which it is difficult to escape,” — said the expert.
He explained that the candidate of Sevastopol Communists long before the elections began an aggressive campaign “using the Maidan rhetoric and methods of political struggle”. According to the analyst, Kiyashko ignored the system and as a result failed to collect the required number of signatures of municipal deputies in order to overcome the municipal filter.
“One of the deputies-Communists, disagreeing with the methods Kiyashko, not even gave him signed,” said Yukhin, noting that after the refusal of registration “Kiyashko went racing and at the meeting of Seismicom shouted that his opinion is more important than the law.”
Gennady Zyuganov on 27 July in the program “separate opinion” on radio station “Echo of Moscow” stated that in Sevastopol to prevent Kiyashko to overcome the municipal filter “took, broke up two councils (municipal deputies — approx. “Of the tape.ru”), where we had representatives of the deputies, and they say that they [the candidates] are competing, they are involved.”
