The Ministry of justice of Ukraine this summer will begin the sale of the buildings of the prisons. This is reported by Ukrainian news.
The sale will start with areas of frozen and unfrozen prisons through the official procurement system. The money the Ministry of justice plans to build a new correctional facility.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Ministry of justice began the process of “freezing” prisons with a small filling. There were taken prisoners and fired staff. Minister of justice Dennis Maluska noted that in a country filled only detention centers that do not plan to close. “Not prisons are overcrowded and prison: Kiev, Odessa, Kherson, where content is often more than 100 percent. Almost none of the prison is not filled to 100 percent, so there is potential for closure,” explained the Minister the desirability of change.
