Imports of gas from Russia to Turkey decreased in may to 62 percent in annual terms. This is stated in the report of the Turkish energy regulator EPDK. Russia has conceded the second place on volumes of deliveries to Qatar.
Russian gas imports fell in may to almost 340 million cubic meters in 2019, the volume of deliveries may have reached 894,9 million cubic meters. Russia’s share in the Turkish market in may decreased to 12.74 percent compared to 17.86 percent in April.
Turkey found a replacement for Russian gas and increased purchases from Qatar by 19.5 percent to 520,2 million cubic meters in may. The leader on volumes of supplies of Azerbaijan, its share on the Turkish market accounted for 33.05 percent.
From July 27 to August 10, the gas pipeline “Turkish stream” is closed for repairs, it happened for the second time in a month. In March, the Blue stream and “Turkish stream” in the aggregate only worked at 10 percent capacity.
Previously, the Agency Fitch has predicted that the average price of gas in Europe’s largest hub TTF in this year will amount to 88,3 dollars per thousand cubic meters, and 2021-m — of 132.4 dollar. For Russia, this means problems with the gas revenues.
