The state Bureau of investigation (RRT) of Ukraine closed the criminal case against the fifth President of Petro Poroshenko about a possible inciting them to religious hatred. This is reported by “Ukrainian news”.
The case was closed within pre-trial proceedings due to the absence of corpus delicti.
The Director of GBR Alexander Sokolov explained that it was not open to the use of the Tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine (PCU), and due to the cancellation of registration of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate (UOC-KP). In his opinion, the cancellation of the registration of the UOC-KP should be considered in the context of administrative or civil proceedings.
Poroshenko said that he brought a criminal case of inciting religious hatred with the creation of the PCU on June 18. During his presidency, he actively promoted the establishment of the Autocephalous Church in Ukraine. In December 2018, Kyiv hosted the unity Council, where the representatives of the schismatic Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyiv Patriarchate and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church announced the creation of the PCU, which then handed Tomos Constantinople.
