33 groundless detention of Russians in Belarus is not entirely within the parameters of allied relations, said the Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov. It was quoted by RIA Novosti on Friday, July 31.
According to him, the detainees are employees of one of private security companies. “The events in Belarus have no relationship”, — said Peskov.
Press Secretary of the Russian leader expressed hope that the Belarusian authorities understand what is happening and will soon release the detained citizens of Russia.
29 July in Belarus were detained 33 people, of which the Republic’s authorities believe the fighters of private military companies (PMCs) Wagner. The Russians supposedly arrived to destabilize the situation in the country ahead of presidential elections on 9 August.
