Chukotka has declared a quarantine due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the town of Anadyr after a case of infection of foxes with rabies. This was reported on the website of the all-Russian research Institute on problems of civil defense and emergency situations (VNII GOCHS).
According to the report, in the vicinity of the Chukchi capital has increased the number of red foxes that carry rabies, which can cause death in humans. The scientists noted that the case of infection of a pet with rabies detected for the first time in the last three years.
In this situation doctors and veterinarians plan to tell people about the prevention of rabies and the severe consequences of delayed access to medical care through the bites of wild animals.
