Part of the riot police, internal troops and other power structures of Belarus left the streets of Minsk. About it reports TASS.
Security forces have been introduced the evening of August 11. Before them was tasked to take control of the entire center of the city, to prevent the recurrence of mass protests. Now the streets of the Belarusian capital unlocked and restored traffic on the main thoroughfares.
Due to blocked the center of Minsk protest action moved to the outskirts of the city. It was reported about clashes in the districts of Robin, Uruchcha, Serebryanka and Kamennaya Gorka. Almost immediately there were sent reinforced militia.
Fighters police special forces acted with incredible cruelty. In particular, they break down the doors in the hallways, kicked and clubbed the fleeing citizens, including adolescents, and attacked journalists. In addition, witnesses showed, as security forces fired at the Windows of houses, and shot protesters at a bus stop. In addition to the Riot police and beatings took part the staff of GAI.
Earlier, the Parliament of Belarus justified the use of violence by security forces to disperse protests in Belarus. Law enforcement officers, the deputies found “absolutely adequate”, stressing that the path of violence is unacceptable for the Belarusian people.
Mass protests began in Belarus in the presidential election day, 9 August. Later they escalated into clashes with riot police. The protests were caused by a disagreement with the official results of the presidential elections which incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko, according to the CEC, has gained more than 80 percent of the vote.
